What is SWITCH Academy?

When a person has been out of school or the traditional work world for an extended period of time it may feel difficult or even impossible to jump back in. SWITCH Academy is meant to bridge the gap for sex workers (+) who are ready to take that first step.

SWITCH Academy is a self-paced preparatory program that helps sex workers (+) discover their strengths, talents, and passions while also identifying and resolving scholastic weaknesses. The goal is to set each student up for success in their pursuit toward their desired career.

How Will this help?

With SWITCH Academy being completely voluntary, you'll get out of it what you choose to put into it. You will likely gain confidence, clarity, and organization skills. All of these tools will help you achieve your goals!

How long will this take?

Because SWITCH Academy is self-paced, the amount of time it will take to complete is up to you.

Many people who have been out of school or a specific career field for an extended period of time wonder if it is too late. We are here to assure you it is NEVER too late to make a change. The founder of SWITCH did not complete her bachelors degree until the age of 32, and will be 36 when she graduates law school.

There are many stories of individuals of all ages pursuing career changes. It is never too late!

What happens at the end?

Upon completion of the SWITCH Academy graduates will receive a personalized, positive letter of recommendation which they may use to apply for jobs, higher education, certification programs, and scholarship opportunities. They will also receive ongoing support in their scholastic and career pursuits.

Depending on each individual's goals, graduates may want to enroll in a GED program, university, or certification program, or they may want to pursue an alternative career path, or establish their own business. The staff at SWITCH will provide guidance, support, and connections to all graduates.

What is the cost?

SWITCH Academy is completely free for sex workers and human trafficking survivors.

SWITCH Academy was built by generous volunteers who donated their time and resources.

SWITCH is currently awaiting 501c3 non-profit status, which will allow us to secure grants and accept donations to improve SWITCH Academy and offer additional services.
